Who welcomed Santa last weekend?
There were snowmen, dancers, singers, a famous cookie loving friend and his red furry mate, and a fun-loving monkey, but the main event, of course, was the big guy himself, Santa.
Last weekend we put on a three-day party that was fit for a king. Starting off with Westfield Manukau on Friday and making his way around Auckland and down to Christchurch as well, thousands of kids turned out to welcome Santa, and get in early with their Christmas wish lists.
But it wasn’t just for the kids, all the parents seemed just as eager to catch the acts, with many loving the Christmas Dream, Santa’s Parade and Sesame Street shows.
All weekend long there were activities to get the kids in the Christmas spirit, with face painters creating all number of little creatures and fairies (so many fairies), balloon twisters bending enough balloons to create a zoo, and crafts like Christmas cookie decorating leaving those with a sweet tooth very happy.
Thanks to everyone that came along and made the weekend extra special. No doubt Santa will be well aware that all the kids have been extra good this year.
Santa is in the house
The main event was Santa, and after his arrival into the centres, he perched himself down permanently on his chair ready for all the kiwi kids to come and say hi. With queues at the ready, he has been a busy man already, but he still has time to get a few wish lists back to the North Pole.
So make sure you head into your local centre before the big day, as Santa will be in the house daily.
