Ways to keep the kids entertained before Christmas
With schools drawing to a close for the year, many of you will still be wondering how to keep your kids entertained and occupied right up until Santa arrives. So to help you out a little we’ve got a list of things that will see more smiles and less boredom.
Crafts, activities and games
Kids are creative by nature so harness their brain power and get them cutting, crafting, colouring and creating. You can make up any number of activities for them to do or if you need a little inspiration head over to our Monty’s World Crafts and Activities page. Here they can create Christmas decorations, do mazes, colouring in and word finds – and we’re always adding more. Or send them over to our Games page to play along with Monty the Monkey.
Oh and don’t forget to get them to write their letters to Santa. They’ll need to make sure they have all their favourite presents listed and all the reasons why they’ve been good this year of course.
Come see Santa
Santa has made his way into all our centres and is available daily to sit down with all the kids, have a wee chat and a photo and of course to hear all their Christmas wishes. Bring in their wish lists and letters to Santa as well as he’ll take them back with him to read with Mrs Claus and the elves before he starts his deliveries.
Head to the cinema
The movies are always a good way to keep the kids occupied for a few hours and there’s some great, kid-friendly movies out at the moment including Goosebumps and Hotel Transylvania 2 (everyone loves animated movies). Don’t forget the big one – Star Wars – is coming out soon too! Check out www.westfield.co.nz to see what’s on at your local cinema.
Shop, dine, play
We know you’ve got a lot of bits to tick of your lists in order to get Christmas sorted. But that doesn’t mean you have to leave the kids at home. Keep them happy with a trip to one of our kid’s play areas, and feed their aching tummies at the food court or one of a number of our cafés – whether you’re looking for something healthy or treating them to something special there’s bound to be something to ease the hunger pains.
